Bryan McNamara, Partner

Bryan has been with the firm for over 35 years and is a qualified Sheriff Officer and Messenger-at-Arms, receiving his commission as a Sheriff Officer in 1987 and thereafter Commissioned as a Messenger-at-Arms in 1992. He is commissioned to operate as an Officer within all six of Scotland’s Sheriffdoms.

Bryan has a wealth of both practical and technical experience in the field of Debt Recovery and Citation and Diligence. He has overall responsibility for the administration of diligence instructions processed through our West Coast diligence centre. He also regularly provides technical training and advice ensuring all staff and clients are kept fully abreast of any legislative changes.

Bryan has served on the Executive Council of the Society of Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers.

Paul Cameron, Partner

Paul has been with the firm for over 25 years and is a qualified Sheriff Officer and Messenger-at-Arms, receiving his commission as a Messenger-at-Arms in 1997.

Paul has a wealth of both practical and technical experience having been a member of the profession’s Examination Committee for several years, as well serving on the Executive Council of the Society of Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers on 2 occasions.

Responsible for the effective operation of our East Coast diligence offices, Paul also regularly provides technical training and advice, ensuring all clients are kept fully abreast of any legislative changes.

James Booth, Partner

Jim, based in our Aberdeen office, has been a commissioned Sheriff Officer since 25th April 1984 and is responsible for our diligence teams in both our Aberdeen and Inverness offices. Jim was recently commissioned for Tayside central and Fife allowing him to operate as a Sheriff Officer in two of Scotland’s six Sheriffdoms.

Jim is also responsible for IT at these offices and has extensive knowledge of the geographical areas for the Grampian Highland & Islands.

Jim is a member of the Society of Messengers at Arms and Sheriff Officers.

William Dolier, Partner

Willie is a highly experienced Messenger-at-Arms & Sheriff officer, his approachability and ability to provide practical and innovative solutions to complex issues both within the domestic and international markets is one of his key strengths.

Willie was first commissioned as Sheriff Officer in 1980 and received his commission as a Messenger-at-Arms in 1986. During this time he has gained a wealth of experience practicing in both rural and inner city sheriffdoms. He was assumed as a partner in Walker Love in 1994. He is currently Immediate Past President of the Society Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers. Willie manages Quality Assurance within the business and oversees the diligence services and offices.

Providing all of our officers and clients with technical advice and training, Willie ensures our commercial, local authority, central government agencies and private litigants are kept fully up to speed on regulatory, legislative and technical procedural changes and developments. He is also responsible for all European and International citation and enforcement, management of our vehicle fleet and mobile communications.

 

 

James Walker, Partner

The majority of James’ thirty five years of experience as a Sheriff Officer has been primarily connected to the collection of non-domestic rates for our local authority clients, using the summary warrant procedure.

James leads our non-domestic rates team providing dedicated revenue collection and enforcement services to Scotland’s Local Authorities, but also has extensive experience in the collection of Decriminalised Parking Fines and also the collection of the Business Improvement District Scheme, more commonly referred to as BIDS. He is a member of the Society of Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers.

Prior to joining Walker Love, James was a member of the Armed Forces, having served in both England and Germany.

Brian Walker, Partner

Brian has over thirty years of experience in all forms of investigation and he has significant expertise in tracing. He leads our professional investigations team and joined the firm in 1990.

In addition to overseeing all our field investigators and in-house tracing agents, he has responsibility for our information management system in respect of ISO27001, as well as being the partner responsible for data protection. Brian is also responsible for health & safety across all of our nationwide offices. Not only is Brian a qualified Sheriff Officer, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Investigators and a member of the Association of British Investigators, Brian has developed many helpful contacts throughout the world.

Tom Davidson, Consultant

Tom has over forty-five years of experience as a Sheriff Officer and Messenger-at-Arms being commissioned in 1975 and 1980, respectively. He currently provides consultancy services to the firm and is commissioned to operate within two of Scotland’s six Sheriffdoms, Grampian Highland & Islands and Tayside Central & Fife.

He has served on various Executive Councils of the Society of Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers and has held the posts of Deputy President and Treasurer of the Society.

Chris Bell, Partner

Chris has over thirty five years of experience in civil enforcement and debt recovery and was assumed as a Partner with Walker Love in 1999. He is a qualified Messenger-at-Arms and Sheriff Officer and leads our Revenue Management Team providing recovery and enforcement services to Scotland’s Local Authorities.

Chris initially qualified as a Sheriff Officer in 1987, a Messenger-at-Arms in 1988 and graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management in 2006. He has served on various Executive Councils of the Society of Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers, holding the posts of Secretary, Vice President and Deputy President over a period of 20 years.

David Walker, Managing Partner

David has over thirty years of experience in citation, civil enforcement and debt recovery. He is qualified as a Messenger-at-Arms and Sheriff Officer, a board member of International Union of Judicial Officers, a member of National Association of Professional Process Servers of America and he is a past president of Society of Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers.

He has specific responsibility for developing the firms business in all market sectors with specific focus on developing international relationships and a network of professional contacts throughout the world, including Judicial Officers, Solicitors and Government Enforcement Agencies.

David has been instrumental in the creation of Connexx International, which is a EU wide organisation which helps Scottish businesses recover debts, enforcement civil actions and serve citations across borders.
